Position description:

The research group of Dr. Weiran Zheng (PI) is looking for a research assistant (RA) to help manage the lab activities and communications with internal departments. The contract duration is 2 years with a possible 1 year extension. Usually, we expect the RA to start their graduate study later, so essential scientific training and support will be provided by the PI.

Group information:

The Electrochemical interface and conversion group () led by Dr. Weiran Zheng focuses on understanding electrochemical processes using in situ techniques, including morphologic and spectroscopic methods. By doing so, we want to correlate electrochemical signals (potential, current, and resistance) with the physical evolution of electrodes and the interfaces, providing insights into rational electrode design that can solve real problems in current electrocatalysis.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Help the PI to manage and purchase small equipment and consumables;

• Provide instrumental training and maintenance to other members of the group; (the PI will provide full support for the initial training)

• Daily administration work of the group;

• Research work (conducting experiments and drafting);

Required job specifications:

• B.S. or M.S. degree in Chemistry (preferred), Physics or Material science with good records; (essential)

• Good English communication skills (CET or IELTS results and interview); (essential)

• Strong interest in electrochemistry (essential), and experience with fundamental electrochemistry is preferred;

• Experience with the following topic: AFM, Raman spectroscopy; electrochemical modeling; water electrolysis; 3D printing. (optional)?
